The Loop: Dubai’s Active-Mobility Concept

Could Dubai become a city where walking and cycling feel comfortable all year round?

THE LOOP is an ambitious 93 km climate-controlled active-mobility concept developed by URB—envisioned to connect more than 3 million residents through dedicated routes for walking, running and cycling.

The vision extends beyond transportation, incorporating pocket parks, wellness spaces, vertical farms, recycled-water irrigation and energy-generating paving into one connected urban environment.

Important context: THE LOOP remains a conceptual proposal. Government or RTA approval, construction funding and an official delivery timeline have not been confirmed. It is also separate from The Boring Company’s proposed underground Dubai Loop.
